EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

 

OrthoSensor’s EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP is comprised of some of the industry’s most experienced, motivated and innovative decision makers.


IVAN DELEVIC, President & Chief Executive Officer

Ivan Delevic brings a wealth of medical device industry experience to OrthoSensor from his prior leadership roles within Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare and most recently as a senior leader at MAKO Surgical where he played a pivotal role in the company’s successful growth and acquisition by Stryker. He has experience both domestically and internationally with previous roles at GE Healthcare including General Manager for Molecular Imaging EMEA, Global Marketing and Sales Manager for Surgical Navigation, Business Development Manager, Six Sigma Leader & Black Belt for Global Functional Imaging, and Sales Manager for Southeastern Europe. Mr. Delevic was also a co-founder of a business where he has served as a business development advisor to numerous medical device companies. He holds a M.B.A. from the Technical University of Budapest through a joint program with Herriot-Watt University and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest.


MARTIN ROCHE, MD, Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Martin Roche is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon at Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute, specializing in reconstructive knee surgery. A pioneer of minimally invasive techniques for joint replacements, robotics and sensor applications, Dr. Roche has served as an international instructor, lecturer and developer of innovative knee devices and surgical approaches. Dr. Roche was a consultant on initial development for MAKO Surgical’s RIO robot and was instrumental in bringing that technology to market. He holds multiple patent applications and continues to focus on integrating advanced technologies into his practice to improve patient outcomes. He has served on multiple clinical advisory boards and as a team physician for the Florida Marlins.


ROMAN BENSEN, Chief Financial Officer

Roman Bensen is a seasoned financial executive with two decades of experience, specializing in strategic finance and corporate performance improvement. His professional experience spans multi-billion dollar public companies and entrepreneurial startups. Mr. Bensen is the former Founder and President of Fidelity Marketing Group and Founder and CEO of Direct Home Capital, both financial services companies. He also has previous investment banking experience with Jefferies & Company’s corporate finance group. Mr. Bensen earned his MBA from Tulane University and holds an MS in Civil Engineering & Environmental Studies, as well as an MS in Electrical Engineering.


STEVE SEGER, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Steve Seger joins OrthoSensor with more than 20 years of Sales, Marketing and Sales Leadership experience in the Healthcare Industry, most recently as a member of the Executive Team at Wright Medical/MicroPort Orthopedics where he served as Vice President of North American Sales. He played an instrumental role in the complex conversion of Wright Medical’s Foot & Ankle distributor network to a direct salesforce and then helped lead the successful transition of the Hip & Knee Division acquired by MicroPort. Mr. Seger’s extensive commercial leadership experience also includes leading sales and marketing teams at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Encysive Biotech, The ICOS Corporation and Merck Human Health. He has a wealth of experience in building sales organizations through active recruiting, hiring and training and then leading those teams to consistently strong sales results. He holds a MBA from Texas Christian University and a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin with a dual degree in Finance and Marketing.


DOUGLAS LEACH, Sr. Vice President of Product Management and Development

Doug Leach brings more than 27 years of experience in orthopaedic sales, marketing and product development with Stryker Orthopaedics to OrthoSensor. He has held roles both in the United States and abroad, serving most recently as Stryker’s Vice President for Global Knees and Biomaterials Research and Development. Mr. Leach previously held the roles of Vice President, Knee Marketing; Product Group Director, Marketing, for Stryker’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Joint Reconstruction business; and European Knee Marketing Director.


LALIT PANDA, Chief Operations Officer & Chief Digital Officer

Lalit Panda is an accomplished senior executive with 27 years of leadership experience in global and Fortune 1000 companies. He managed complex global supply chains in consumer electronics companies, including Sony, and led the Supply Chain and Information Systems at Harman International Consumer Divison. Mr. Panda also headed the Global IT functions at D&M Holdings (Denton, Marantz), Arysta Lifescience and Tronox LLC where he held the position of Chief Information Officer.

Mr. Panda has successfully led several supply chain and information technology transformation projects of global scope, such as network and IT infrastructure optimization, ERP consolidations & implementation, e-commerce and digital marketing platforms, and organizational transformations, which included seamless integration of a $1 billion+ acquisition. His passion is to enhance business productivity and risk reduction while enabling revenue growth through customer engagement and operational systems. He earned his Masters degree in Logistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, holds a MBA and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

MICHAEL STANSKY, Chairman

Mr. Stansky was a Managing Director of Tudor Investment Corporation where he was responsible for long/short equity and venture capital investments. He joined Tudor in January 1994 and retired from active investment management in 2008. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Stansky was an analyst and portfolio manager at Wellington Management Company. He currently advises and invests in start-up companies and is on the Board of Directors of Micell Technologies. Mr. Stansky serves on the Advisory Board of Windhorse Capital Management and the Investment Committee of Leerink Revelation Partners. He holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Stansky is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

MANUEL AGUERO

Mr. Aguero has over 24 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including eight years at Johnson & Johnson where he held positions of increasing responsibility including sales, marketing and management. Mr. Aguero is Co-founder and President of Q*Med corporation, a medical device distribution company. Mr. Aguero graduated with Honors from The University of Florida with a BSBA in Business Finance. Mr. Aguero is also an active investor and advisor on several start up and private placement vehicles in the healthcare field.


 STEVEN B. EPSTEIN

Mr. Epstein is the founder and a senior member of the law firm Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., which is recognized as one of the country’s leading healthcare law firms employing more than 275 lawyers in 11 cities. A graduate of the Columbia Law School, Mr. Epstein currently serves as chairman of the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors and received Columbia University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007 and Columbia Law School’s most prestigious award, the Medal for Excellence, in 2009. A graduate of Tufts University, Mr. Epstein served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Tufts from 1999 to 2009 and currently serves as a Director Emeritus.

Mr. Epstein has also been ranked among the healthcare “Leaders in Their Field” by Chambers USA, that also referred to him as the “father of the healthcare [legal] industry.” As the senior health partner at Epstein Becker and Green, Epstein provides healthcare industry participants with strategic guidance in responding to the legal challenges and opportunities presented by the rapidly changing American healthcare system.


DAVID MATLIN

Mr. Matlin is the Chief Executive Officer of MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC, a $9 billion global private equity firm, which he co-founded in July 2002. Prior to forming MatlinPatterson, Mr. Matlin was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and head of their Distressed Securities Group since its inception in 1994. Before joining CSFB, Mr. Matlin was Managing Director of distressed securities and a founding partner of Merrion Group, L.P.. Mr. Matlin holds a JD degree from the Law School of the University of California at Los Angeles and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Matlin serves on the boards of Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. and CalAtlantic.


STEPHEN CHARLES “CHUCK” O’MEARA

Mr. O’Meara was a Senior Managing Director in the private equity business unit at Ziegler, a specialty investment bank focused on healthcare, from 2006 to 2017. He previously served as General Counsel of Ziegler from 1993 until 2006, during which he managed the legal, compliance, and risk management functions of the firm. Beginning in 2005, he was instrumental in forming three venture capital funds, Ziegler Meditech Equity Partners, a joint venture between Ziegler and Meditech Advisors Management which focuses on new medical device technology, Ziegler HealthVest Partners, which invests in companies in healthcare services and information technology, and Ziegler Link-Age Longevity Fund LP, which invests in companies developing new technology and service models for the senior care industry. He currently serves as a director for St. Joseph’s Hospital-Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin Health System.  Mr. O’Meara received an AB from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from Marquette University Law School.


CHANG KYU KIM

Mr. Chang Kyu Kim is Executive Managing Director of KTB Network Co., Ltd., a position he has held since 2008.  KTB Network Co. Ltd. is one of the most prominent investment groups in South Korea with over US $11 billion in assets under management.  Mr. Kim further serves as Executive Director of Investment Screening at KTB Investment Group and acts a fund manager for the Korea National Pension Fund.  Mr. Kim has over 23 years of experience in venture investment, with a focus on health care, information technology, financial technology and online-to-offline commerce.  Past deals include leading investments in Corentec and the Korea Bone Bank, which researches and develops artificial joints and biologic material related to bone growth factors, and investments in VivaRepublica and Woowa Brothers.  Over twenty of KTB’s portfolio companies are listed on KOSDAQ, a South Korean stock exchange.  Mr. Kim serves as a Director of ASTA Inc., VivaRepublica, Rainbowbridge World and Mixed Analog Power Solutions.  Mr. Kim holds an M.S. and B.S. in Economics from Yonsei University.
